Omar valiantly tried to convince me to watch Breaking Bad for the last five years or so. I’m ashamed to admit I didn’t actually start watching until last week. I’m already well into season 2 and hope to catch up before the series finale. It’s important to have goals in life.
I’m in Las Vegas about to board a plane back home. It was my incredible bad luck to have scheduled a flight out here before I knew it was at the same time as the half-season premiere of Season Five of Breaking Bad.
My addiction to the show, which I think is the best thing on TV, period, full stop, shut up Mad Men, is such that I almost skipped a Las Vegas party to stay in my hotel room and watch. Instead, I was thrilled to find out the premiere was free on the AMC website, so I just skipped lunch the next day and marveled at how skillfully they continued the story in ways that remain incredibly surprising and yet horrifically inevitable.
I can’t wait for Pablo to get to the box cutter. You know what I’m talking about. Right? Man.
