What Could’ve Been
Some more musings about….that movie come your way this morning. I think we’re done with that. I’m not sure which scenario would’ve been more depressing: Space Chimps being a huge success and leaving us to toil in obscurity with the same premise, or what actually happened if it turns out it’s because people don’t like our premise. Hopefully it was a matter of execution and not subject matter.
I wouldn’t know; I didn’t go see that crap.
And now, let us never speak of this again
We knew Space Chimps was coming for, oh, at least six months, but we chose not to think about it.
In fact, it became our personal Y2K: we knew it was coming, we knew it was inevitable, but we had no idea how much damage it might cause.
Not much, it turns out. Much like Y2K.
So we’ll keep on posting comics of monkeys in space and they’ll keep, I guess, putting out an eventual DVD about chimpsin space and we will just go our separate ways, giving each other tough glances across the schoolyard.
Not that they’re even glancing our way. Perhaps it’s better that way.
