I’ve let my feelings about Bird Box be known. Still, I’m fascinated by the meme economy’s bolstering of this sad film’s performance. It created a sort of distortion field that sucked in viewership without a definitive, “Yes, this is a good movie,” recommendation. People simply wanted to be in on the joke whether it meant slogging through a shit movie or finding that they thought it was alright.
Anyway.
I just wanted to also point out that of course General Bastid sleeps on a mattress on the floor.
