An Inconvenient Group
Hopefully, winning the Best Documentary Oscar will persuade some of you who haven’t already seen An Inconvenient Truth to check it out.
I am not an environmentalist by any stretch of the imagination, but the facts presented are the types of things that no human being should ignore, regardless of their personal beliefs or affiliations. It’s nothing you couldn’t find out on your own if you were so motivated, but the documentary condenses it all into a digestible hour-and-a-half-long package. Like the Olive Garden.
Coldest global warming ever
The irony was not lost to my wife and I when the day we got to sit down and watch An Inconvenient Truth was the day we both had to stay home from work because a huge ice storm kept us off the road.
And here I am watching the TV and there’s a blizzard shutting down other cities.
Still, these are just examples of how out-of-whack our weather is right now. When we start seeing polar bears digging through our Texas trash, we’ll have even more proof.
I’m not gonna lie and say that’s why I drive a Prius — that’s simply a function of gas prices plus the length of my commute plus my love of things that have big buttons and flashing lights. But I swore a while back I’d never drive an SUV and I’m happy that global events have made it a promise that wasn’t difficult to keep.
