Zombie Recycling

Chapter: Comic

Well, there’s two ways to look at today’s comic. Either it’s a really late Monday update, or it’s an extremely early Tuesday update. I prefer the latter because I like extreme things.

Our zombie friend makes his return today to finish the job hestarted. And he does so minus an extremity.

Today’s comic came about a bit more smoothly than I’m used to thanks to the new site design and also thanks to this new bit of business I picked up recently.

I feel like I need to compensate by starting a bad habit like ostrich egg stealing or something.

Director’s cut

by Omar G. on August 8, 2005 at 4:07 am

Alternate last lines for this comic that PJ and I couldn’t decide whether to use or not:

“Agggggh…MY WORLD IS SHATTERING!’

“Aggggh……find a werewolf!”

“Aggghhh — get my moon shield!”

“Agghh — the heavens have failed me again!”

“Aggghh — there is no dark side of the moon!”

“Why are you laughing, death!?!”

“Agggghhh! Bring me back a better scientist!”

“Aggghhh! How could I have ever predicted the phases of the moon!?”

“Agggghhh!! This is my ides of March in August!”

“Agghh! my pain eclipses the moon!”

“Aggghhh! Bring me back as competent in my next life!”

“Agghh! Carl Sagan, I’m coming home!”

“Aggghhh! Why do the zombies find me so tasty!?”

“Agggghh!! Would that my pain receptors were the dead ones!”

“Agggghhh! Patent my lunar-powered zombie when I’m gone!!”

“Aggghh! Patent my lunar-powered zombie and burn the proceeds!”

… “and reanimate the proceeds!”

“Aggghh! My legacy is doomed to fail as well!”

“Agggh! my only regret is this zombie!”

New site, comic coming

by Omar G. on August 9, 2005 at 4:08 am

How do you like our new site design?

I would love to take credit for it. Would love that. But I can’t. I mean, I can. But I won’t.

PJ worked his ass off for the last several weeks, learning PHP, CSS and all that mumbo jumbo to get this all going.

The upshot is that instead of spending forever updating the site, links, archive and all that every time we post a new comic, all we do is essentially flip a switch, type some stuff, and boom. Shit’s all updated and pretty. Which in essence means that this flurried amount of work these last two weeks are so that PJ doesn’t really ever have to work again. I think he’ll say that it was a fair trade-off.

New comic is coming later today. PJ was working on it last night, but I think he had a bad case of the sleepies, probably at an ungodly a.m. hour.

He ain’t lyin’

by PJ on August 9, 2005 at 4:09 am

Yeah, I fell asleep because of some cold medicine I’m taking. I fucking fell asleep with a cough drop in my mouth. A cough drop!

So, yeah, this is our new site design. Pretty, huh? We’ve also updated the About Us and Links pages. The Story as well as the Hot Stuff pages will be undergoing massive changes in the next couple weeks, but until then they both remain functional.

Sadly, this new set-up has done away with our comments capability and we weren’t able to bring over old comments on the older newsposts. We may try to remedy this in the future, but for now we’d just like to thank everyone who commented in the past.

Also, some of the older comics had to be reduced in size to fit in our layout. So some of them might be a little difficult to read. I think I may go back and add links to larger versions of the comics in the newsposts.

But yeah…a lot of work has already gone into this, and for now I’m just going to focus on bringing you comics.

So take a look around. Make yourself at home.

I think is the most we’ve ever had to say at any one time.
