I have a kid. I don’t see movies.
When I saw the trailers for American Gangster, I absolutely wanted to see it. Then it hit theaters and I completely lost interest. I’ll probably see the movie with the computer animated bees before I see it. I’m not sure why. Having an infant in the house makes going to a theater to see a movie a moot point anyway. Maybe I’ll see it on the Blu-Rays someday.
PJ did see the film and had positive things to say about it. I don’t see how it’s not a winning formula given the director and stars. Plus the title is gold. “American” + “Gangster”? Come on, that practically prints money.
The only way you could ruin a title like that is to add an extraneous word like American Gangster Clown or Effeminate American Gangster. I would stand in line to see American Pie Gangster, however.
